For Uhura, I'd say she doesn't haver her commission at that point.
According to the book (if you take that as canon at all), the first time Uhura's called by lieutenant is in the hangar, so her promotion must have taken place sometime between the shuttle ride and the distress call. Kirk is also referred to as 'lieutenant' once aboard the Enterprise, and McCoy at that point is lieutenant commander, but at what point these promotions occurred I'm not sure.
According to Alpha, cadets only receive their commissions once they graduate, so I'm not sure how well the Reboot canon meshes with the rest of canon, since they're all referred to as both cadets and commissioned officers at the same time. I would think though that the ranks were basically just honorary ones used for the duration of the Narada incident, and the cadets received their full commissions after they returned and graduated.
Um.
But I may have just put too much thought into that, my bad. Whoops!
I ticked 'other' so: warnings. If you do 'em, it makes sense to have them on a masterlist.
If you don't do warnings, obviously a moot point; if you've posted about a no-warnings policy, this isn't like a stealth!demand for them, I just missed/forgot about the post. :)
It's not a deal-breaker, but I like to have warnings if actually something to warn about. Re: underage, watersports, blood-play, necrophilia, etc. are things to warn for. M/m is not something to warn for especially if the pairing is clearly marked.
